Faraday Technology is a Taiwanese ASIC design-service and IP company, a UMC affiliate, that designs custom chips including AI-related SoCs for fabless customers using UMC's foundry processes. It competes with GUC in the TSMC/UMC-affiliated ASIC design-house niche. Faraday continued shipping custom ASIC designs, including AI-accelerator-adjacent SoCs, in production for customers through 2025.
